I got to head over to The Spot climbing gym a couple of weeks ago to shoot the last competition of the Spot Bouldering Series. The competition went all day, with kids climbing in the morning and working up to adults in the evening. It was a crazy awesome event, and shooting the competitors was pretty rad.

The tiny girl was not only fearless, but an excellent climber.

Despite being in the youth category, this was one of the five overall finalists. Not too shabby.

And on to the finals. The top five men and women were selected to compete on new routes. Each person had 4 minutes to try the route as many times as they wanted. One guy and one woman climbed at the same time, while the remaining competitors had to watch the other gender climb so they couldn’t get any beta from the current climber.

Today is Donny’s birthday! We celebrated by enjoying lunch at Smiling Moose Deli and then having a delicious dinner/dessert at West End Tavern. Donny got some sweet gifts and can’t wait for all the snow to melt so he can ride his new bike!

Due to a truly outrageous amount of snow on Thursday night and Friday, we got a snow day!

In the morning we had around 13 inches on the table on our porch.

Before we went to bed, we were up to 17 inches.

The official count for Boulder was 22.7 inches. That’s quite a bit. In nearby Jamestown… 46 inches! Tabitha would have had an aneurism if we got that much snow.

It was an extremely warm day for being the 5th of January. It’s hard to believe that it was actually in the mid-60′s. Felt like spring outside, but winter will be returning this weekend with temperatures back in the 40′s. Tabitha and I decided that we need to wear sandals when we went out this afternoon to fully enjoy the warm weather.
